About Phoenix

Phoenix Theatre Company was first established in Congleton in 2019, by four founding members who were passionate about having a community theatre hub that specialised in plays, delivering workshops, theatre experiences and the opportunity to help people build on their skills and passions for theatre. We also wanted to provide an organisation that was accessible, non-judgemental and professional to its local community.

Phoenix Theatre Company aims to perform two plays each year to inspire and entertain the audiences of Congleton and the surrounding areas.

We believe at Phoenix that everyone should have access to live theatre, whether that being the chance to perform on stage, experience the runnings of a community theatre or to be an audience member, we strive to provide these opportunities to our community, no matter what.

Our Core Values

- To include all members of our community, regardless of age, race, religion, sexual orientation, personal beliefs or lifestyle and provide the opportunity to experience theatre

- To provide a safe, non-threatening environment for our community to experience all areas of theatre and putting on a production

- To treat all of our members, colleagues and audiences with respect and understanding

- To make links with other community theatre groups, especially bringing young, new talent from youth organisations and local schools

- To provide the opportunity to take part in two productions each year, whether that be on stage, backstage, front of house or as an audience member

- To give back to our community through the medium of performing arts, to inspire others and to entertain
